Farm Gunsbewys lies in the unique red dunes of the Namib desert. For many years the farm operates as a game farm only. Ostriches and Oryx antelope roam the unspoiled nature. They often visit a natural water whole near the farmhouse.
Long stretching dunes are the natural border to the Namib Naukluft Park. Here you will find many endemic beetles. At night you'll hear the sound of the barking geckos, you find the Palmato gecko and if you are lucky you can spot the dune cricket which builds tunnels into the dune sand.
The shape of the red sand at dawn and dusk are of amazing beauty. To sit at the guest house admiring the landscape will be unforgettable. You will be truly amazed by the magnificent night sky.
The farm stretches to the Tiras mountains where you can find almost forgotten bushman settlements. With the sun going down the Tiras Mountains appear red and the clear line of the horizon is visible until the the stars come up.
Solar energy is used to pump water, run all necessary kitchen appliances and is the source for light.
The farm is a must for anyone who loves nature.
